Midcentury masterpiece
This is one of the iconic midcentury recordings of Dvorak’s “From the New World” Symphony. Stokowski emphatically plays it as the romantic masterpiece it really is! The other great rendition is by Paul Paray, with the Detroit Symphony, on Mercury records. The special bonus with the Stokowski version, though, is hearing Mitch Miller’s soulful solo English horn part in the “Largo.” This should dispel the notion that Miller was nothing more than a TV lightweight who hosted a silly sing-along show in the the 1950s and early 1960s. It’s also emblematic of the great talent Stokowski was able to assemble. Filling out this CD is recording of Schubert’s ever-melodious “Rosamunde” suite – at one time, just as familiar and popular as “New World,” and a pleasure in every musical line. All in all, a beautiful expression of Stokowski’s extroverted style, with unforgettable and easy-to-listen-to lighter classical pieces. An artistic gem.

Special W-Mint clad dime still hot with collectors!
This dime was an "extra" in 1996 US Mint Set and is the only (to date) coppernickel clad coin to bear the "W" mintmark. Interest was piqued after a July 2012 Coin World article incorrectly said there was another clad "W" commemorative half dollar -- there isn't! 1996-W dime is still very affordable but picking up steam in MS-69-70 slabs. Great coin to buy slabbed so you don't bust up original mint set.

Might well be called *shoe savers*
These no-show socks are perfect for the *sockless* look, with the advantage that they take some wear and tear off the inner shoe. I like the compact size (even smaller after washing) and light weight. A fun and inexpensive addition to your footwear accessories.
