Pen turning - its ideal
If you're into woodturning smaller items such as pens then this chuck clamp is the device I would strongly recommend. If you think you need four jaws to hold an item squarely you'd be wrong, its ideal for the job, even holding rectangular pieces such as home-cast acrylic blocks in a mold. The extra length not found on similar jaws really makes a difference I found, I'm no expert but life became easier with this device.

Great wood - lousy bearings
Didn't turn very smootly. I discovered that the bearings (about 8) were widely spaced in a flimsy plastic coller. Two refused to rotate at all. All the bearings had also made a permanate dent in the base of the table top which was why it turned badly with excessive noise.
I bought a proper Lasy Susan bearing kit for about £3 (eBay) - which had about 25 or more ball bearings in a metal runner which was a perfect replacement.
The wooden table itself was very good, heavy, thick and solid - shame it was let down by the mechanics.

Does the job - well.
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich Most bench grinders come with two stones, a heavy grit, and a medium grit, this one comes with a wider, fine grit one that's ideal for knives and finishing off chisels making this machine more versatile and a good 'all-rounder'.
It is surprisingly quiet with a not unpleasant hum. The thicker (screw-in) rubber feet must contribute to dumbing down the vibration. Unlike the lesser powered 150w versions, this 250w is powerful enough for most tasks.
I'm pleased I opted to spend a little more and avoid the cheaper alternatives. A pair of goggles was included which is a must for any machine like this.
