Old school

It's an old school kit. No door or window openings pre cut. 2 windows were not correct to plans.

Nice small cabin

As the title indicates this is a nice small cabin, but when finished it should not be a foreground model, it should be something used behind other structures or in the woods. Several instances of joints and parts not fitting well were noticed, either undersized openings or incorrect parts for the application, ei: a Grandt stove pipe in HO instead of the correct O scale one since this was the O scale kit. The front porch chair is clunky looking, a cast chair would have been better, IMHO. Like all laser cut structure kits the plywood parts are twisty and warped, an amount of straightening had to occur. Tissue paper or silk-span for the rolled roofing would have been nice instead of the construction paper supplied, and some strip wood for the trim and battens would be better. I'm not sure what the attraction is about laser cut doors and windows but the GRANDT alternatives are better than warped Windows and doors, again IMHO. (Quicker install, too) But, again, a decent kit and should fit in that small background lot I've got that needs to be filled! GW

I've wanted a good looking locomotive for a while and thus engine fits the bill. Added plus....it runs really well.
