Fender has pretty much nailed tube amp modeling...
9 von 9 finden das hilfreich The real test of tube amp modeling isn't wide open wailing on a guitar - it's touch response and how it reacts to input gain variation and the volume control on the guitar. I've always been obsessive about my guitar tone and usually the best I can do is find something I'm marginally satisfied with. I bought one of these without trying one first as a practice amp (getting back into playing after a many-year hiatus) and planned to use my trusty pedal board, so I wasn't too concerned about the amp models. Suffice it to say that my pedal board is now irrelevant and I have zero desire to own another tube amp (have owned Marshalls, Hiwatts, tube Fenders etc.). If I decide to start gigging again I'll buy a Champion 100 without giving it a second thought.
I guess it should be no surprise that the company who set the standard for guitar amp tone a half century ago has figured out how to make solid state sound not just good, but stunningly good.

potent clean boost
I bought this to drive a power amp, and it has enough gain to drive a QSC amp to clipping and is totally clean - with EQ flat it doesn't color the sound, EQ is responsive and musical if you do need/use it. Due to the plastic build quality I wouldn't recommend it for use as an actual stomp box, but as an always-on device that doesn't get stepped on it's excellent.
Some reviewers have stated that it is not battery-capable - that is incorrect (battery lives under the switch pad and is just a little tricky to get at) - would recommend power supply use regardless.
