Good enough case

It really is a Magic Key to Spanish!
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich I happened upon this book about a year into my self paced study of Spanish.
Lots of books/programs/courses promise an easy way to learn Spanish, but after fighting my way through Spanish grammar/verb books I found this book (and for only $10) delivered on that promise.
No huge lists of words to memorize or charts of verbs to conjugate in 24 different tenses, just some easy reading to get you started learning Spanish.

Before I realized it, I was learning Spanish! It wasn't hard; it was easy and it was fun.
I progressed and reviewed at my own pace. As the lessons became more advanced I found Ms. Madrigal began offering mnemonic devices just like I used in college to remember important ideas except she'd already invented them for me!
I especially liked the literal translation she used rather than an interpreted translation like so many other books used. I found this especially true with direct object, indirect object, and reflexive pronouns.
Se lo digo. I give it to him is the translation, but the literal translation is To him, it I give. Now that may seem trivial to you, but it really helped me in understanding actually what was said, but also with how to structure my sentences in English before they went to Spanish.
You're also taught how to use lo/la or se without actually knowing the difference between a direct object and an indirect object. To or For need lo/la; otherwise use se.
I have a retired friend that has taken various Spanish courses at the college level (he worked there and audited the courses) and travels to Mexico a couple of times a year for a couple of weeks each time whom told me this book was the best book on Spanish he'd run across.
It isn't the only book you'll need; a good grammar book is also helpful. And it does nothing to address the correct pronunciation of the words, but for the cost of admission I think it is the best value in Spanish education I've found.
