A must read for history lovers and anyone obsessed with the history of paper arts
This book is an fascinating historical biography, written in a poetic style. I normally find most historical biographies to be stuffy and drab - this one is engaging and easy to read. Molly Peacock conveys Mary Granville Delaney's life in detail that is educational and enjoyable. I was however a little distracted by the autobiographical inclusions.
The photography of Mary Granville Delaney's collage art was wonderful. The collage art was beautiful and the technique was way before it's time. I felt the author's interpretation of the botanical collages took a lot of liberty but that is allowed in the interpretation of art - one man's opinion.
