2N3771's I received failed immediately.
The 2N3771 parts I received when place in a power supply all failed immediately. Further investigation, pulling the top of the TO-3 Case, reveled a small chip with tiny lead wires. I measured the diameter of the about wirebonds to be 0.006". These lead wires will fuse at ~4A which is totally unsuitable for a 30A part. The silicon chip area was about 2mm x 2mm compared to a chip area of about 6.5mm x 6.5mm on the original 30 year old 2N3771 parts I was trying to replace. Using NTE 2N3771's fixed my power supply - so problem was NOT my power supply.

Good quality but resistance +/- ~4%
Supposed to be 75 ohms -- was 77.8, 78.3, 73.8, 76.0, 75.9
Pretty good, but not as good as if 1% resistors were used. I only really needed two, so I used the best two which are fine.
