Brilliant versatile item (if you have a few DIY skills)
We wondered whether this would work for an open fire and due to the price decided to give it a go. I had a galvanised steel bracket made that fits onto the front of the fire place. The base of the bracket (that the fan sits on) is level with the top of the fire opening and it works perfectly. Very pleased. The fan is also silent.

Disappointed that the cable doesn't detach from the 3-pin plug to use elsewhere (probably my fault for not checking properly, just expected it to be that way!) - but ultimately works and charges as it should - thank you.
