Since this seems to be a sort of prequel to the When Calls the Heart television series, it doesn't follow Jeanette Oakes' book as closely as I'd hoped

So much info packed into a very readable form. So worth the purchase!
I gave this as a gift to my daughter, and her children, who prefers audio books, however, we own the hard-copy book. This is a wonderfully written history of the Pilgrims and our country's observance of Thanksgiving. It is written on two levels that you can choose to read from, especially for a simpler version for younger children. I learned many things I did not know. And there is a CD of beautiful instrumental songs of gratitude! Love listening to the music!
