Fills The Need

Technical papers on the state of the art in computer-based music and synthesis, circa 1989.
The book containing a collection of technical papers provides an overview of where the R&D of computer-based music and synthesis technologies were at in 1989. Interesting as a historical document of descriptions, explanations and technical underpinnings behind the development of computer music technologies we now take for granted in 2017. It can be thought of as the third volume of MIT computer music books of technical papers (the first being Foundations of Computer Music compiled by Curtis Roads and John Strawn, the second being The Music Machine compiled by Curtis Roads). If you can get the hard-to-find accompanying CD to the book, containing audio examples of the topics covered in the papers, so much the better.
