another deep dive into slavery as it adapts to change.
It adds more insights on the nature and changes and adaptability of the institution of slavery in this case dealing with the indigenous population of the Americas.. It is difficult not to be bothered by some of the disturbing experiences of those enslaved who were more often than not treated as less than human to the point where they were fed their meals slops at troughs as if they were just another farm animal. The American West so was not free of slavery and most of the early settlers were lacking in any basic humanity.
