Apparently his most commercially successful album!
As always with Tom Waits middle period, there are some timeless classics, & quite a few forgettable ones on there. A lot more blues influenced than his early stuff, but there are a few creaky piano ballads, & the classic "What's he building in there?"

Slimmer leaner versions of the tunes you love
If your a fan of carl Jenkins, then you'll be interested in these pared down versions of most of his big hits. From a pianists point of view, it's always nice to hear these sketchy versions, as the mark of a good tune is whether it works in its most basic form, which in this case I'd say they do.

A superb album from a largely unknown American pianist.
If your familiar with the work of this instrumental pianist, then you wont be dissapointed with this offering. If you've never come across her work before, I'd highly recommend that you look her up. One of America's best kept instrumental secrets.
