We are being ripped off when upgrading to Helix unit from older model(959).
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich The unit works well for what the sonar is design for. I aim not happy about the plotter setup because Hummingbird decide to go with Micro SD chips in the new Helix units. If you are upgrading from older unit (mine is a 959) the standard SD chips will not work. That part is not made very clear until after your purchase. These chips cost from $125 to $175 apiece (Lakmaster or Navionics) for each area you wish to fish. I contacted tech support about getting some credit by turning the old chips being Hummingbird distributes the Lakemaster chips to sporting goods stores with no success and am waiting to hear from corporate office.
My 959 unit came with protective cover but not with expensive Helix model, thats sold separately.

Need to supply screen protector with purchase
I upgraded from older Hummingbird unit which came with nice hard cover for the screen to the Helix7. I had to buy all new micro SD map chips when the company switches from standard SD to the micro SD which the company conveniently sells for $125-150. The micro chips are much more difficult to install/remove in new slot site. I had hope to use my older unit with the universal transducer on the electric trolling motor but they stop making cable connect for it???
