Pricey Old PSU Works!
The psu works. Its case must be a bit distorted because the fit was not good. The installation difficulty is Dell's design fault, but besides that their was a dent in the case that may have made the fit difficult.

A problem of fit not quality.
Buying couplers is difficult because of fitting to the motors' drive shafts. The various models of microwave ovens have differing drive shafts. In particular, the keying of the shaft and the coupler is quite variable. Unless you can somehow be certain that the shaft of your oven's motor fits the coupler, you may be quite disappointed when the coupler arrives.
In my case, there was nothing wrong with the coupler. It looked much like the one I was trying to replace; only, it would not fit the motor's shaft.
