Hatched, baby is out of the nest.
Really interesting piece of fossil history, a 75 million year old piece of eggshell. Did it hatch and run off chasing after a rather large reptilian beaked mama chirping as it came across some poor downed stegosaurus for steaks or was it in turn made into a cold blooded omelet for another predator/scavenger?
Who knows? No reports, birth certificates, or AKC registrations, back then, (we had a fire in the courthouse records room). Or should that be AOC for registered Oviraptors?
Cool item for collection, good talk piece intro on the "dinosaurs to birds" discussions.
