For those of you harking back to the early days of micro CPU's and want to do some programming in either Basic or Assembler
For those of us who were involved with computers back in the 1970's as I was and stayed with the technology until retirement. My first home brew computers in the early 1980's consisted of a Z80 based board wired up from scratch with ram, eprom and serial I/O to a video adapter and then a 6502 by 1980. I self taught myself basic and assembler for both platforms, I had a Sinclair ZX81 and Spectrum followed by an Apple II. After using the first PC with floppy discs and Windows 3.1, I continued up to today with Win 11.
However, I missed to those early days with minimal hard ware and using assembler to get the best performance out of a 8 bit micro. I'd highly recommend either of the Aquarius models as GitHub has plenty of support for the simplest of nostalgic experiments and with the ESP wi-fi module, that was a clever move to enable wi-fi for more useful and complex projects like web servers, updates and home appliance monitoring and control. Whilst I have Alexa for home devices if the internet is down or Amazon is off line, nothing works but maybe I can control simple switches by my local network .
