Easy to Use!
I had purchased the esp-12E by itself from another vendor and built the circuit with switches to get it into programming mode to use with the arduino IDE but couldn't get it to work. Did some research and bought this nodeMCU. It arrived, I plugged it in, I loaded the esp8266 library,I selected nodeMCU in Board Manager in Arduino IDE and uploaded my program. No buttons to hit at the right time, etc. the node goes into pragramming mode automagically, no fuss, no lost time.
