Appears to be unread, new, old stock. The only "fault" is that the dust cover is slightly discoloured. Excellent book in good condition.

seems ok
I have not yet used it but tests suggest it does what it should do. If an exact voltage is required very fine adjustment of the control is needed. A very small turn can change the output by 0.5V. Tested at input 12V DC output 6V

Good but...
Easy to fit BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER SOLDERING IRON. The connections to the element are soldered. There are 3 wires, the one that is a different length is the earth. I can't remember whether it is shorter or longer (on the old one it was the opposite). My biggest problem was removing the bit from the old element (both nearer thirty than twenty years old). to transfer it to the new one. Works very well. It is so long ago I can't tell if it is better or worse than when the original was new.
