Made for Looks, Not Functionality or Comfort
I researched benches for a long time before settling on this one, and I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, after a couple months of use I am still not enjoying using it. First, some good points:
* The top seems to be of real, durable leather.
* The wood frame seems strong.
* The height adjustment mechanism seems strong.
* The hinge mechanism for the lid seems strong.
* It looks pretty good.
Despite these strengths, the functionality is simply sub-par:
* The first problem is that it takes lo-o-n-n-g to adjust the height. As a piano teacher with varied sizes of students, this is a real pain.
* A problem equally bad is that there isn't much padding. It seems a horrible waste to use such good leather and then put so little padding under it.
* The buttons poke into my backside when I'm sitting on it, and I'm only 150 pounds.
* The leather is "sticky"--not literally sticky, but you can't move around easily on it. It feels like it grabs my pants, making it uncomfortable to swivel on and off the bench. A glossier finish would be much more comfortable.
* I'm a little suspicious about how long the sewing will last between the leather panels on the top.
In short, my old vinyl-covered adjustable bench was more comfortable and adjusted much faster. In fact, a cheap $40 bench that Yamaha uses is vastly more comfortable (though unfortunately does not adjust incrementally). For $200 this was a real disappointment, and unfortunately I can't afford to replace it right now.

Exactly What I Was Looking For
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I am transitioning to offering online piano lessons. I needed a stand for my laptop--something secure and adjustable, so I can experiment with what position is best for laptop webcam to capture me and my piano as I teach.
This stand is very adjustable and very secure, just what I was looking for. So far the quality looks reasonable, too. I'm fully satisfied.

This product was inferior in several way...
This product was inferior in several ways: 1) The screws to adjust the tilt of the lights were installed upside down; I had to reverse the screw or it would have been impossible to adjust the tilt after the light was on the vehicle. 2) The spring around the tilt-adjusting screw was weak and the screw hole was oversized, so that the tilt function doesn t work well; I had to borrow the spring from the old light I was removing. 3) The light lens is thicker than on the original light and sticks out further, preventing the trim pieces from snapping into place properly after the light is installed. 4) The tabs on the trim piece are not as good as on the original; some are weaker and some don t line up as well with the holes they need to snap into. I had to use some screws to help hold the trim pieces in place.
Due to some of the above problems, I could not make the combo of the new light and new trim fit and stay in place on my van. I managed to use old trim around a new light (with a screw to secure it) and I also managed to use new trim around an old light (again with a screw). I was definitely disappointed and I cannot recommend this product.
