READEREST Magnetic Eye-Glass Holder BLACK Stainless Steel NEW!!

    READREST Magnetic Eye-glasses Holder
Yes, this is the device you first saw on "Shark Tank" and indeed it's as good as it appeared on TV. In fact I currently have five of them, each for a differently-colored suit or shirt. A little spray paint will change the one you buy to whatever else you might need, then suddenly you don't have your shiny chrome-finished glasses holder standing out starkly against your dark background. That works as great as the product itself and allows you a lot more flexibility in wearing. The upshot is, before my wife bought my first pair of these (both originals now lost) I was going through reading glasses at an alarming rate. I was always having them fall out of my pocket when bending over and it seemed like invariably it was on a rough concrete floor, and I then had some brand-new scratches on my lenses. One time a pair bounced out of my pocket while I was chasing a vehicle that was leaving too soon and I crushed a pair of glasses I'd bought earlier that day. Since using the holders I'll still occasionally damage a pair of glasses, but that's usually because I've caught the holder on something and released the magnetic grip, allowing my specs to go flying. If you've been thinking about getting one -- quit putting it off. Buy one and you'll buy more.

A basically useful book, weakened by a disturbing number of minor errors.
This is a nicely-researched book with a maddening series of little mistakes, which detract from an otherwise well-written narrative. The publishers would do well to invest in hiring a professional editor and/or proof-reader, as they cannot expect individual authors to all be adept at spotting errors. For instance, early on in a general discussion about German awards and decorations, the text mentions the Iron Cross being instituted in 1813 and then being re-instituted in 1870 "without change." Although the reverse sides of the two closely resembled one another, the 1813 Iron Cross had a totally blank obverse whereas the 1870 types had a Prussian crown at the top of the vertical arms, the initial "W" in the center, and the date 1870 at the bottom. There were certainly some changes. So far I've only looked closely at the most famous names, but there are detail errors in nearly every one. For instance a passage in the bio of Ernst Udet mystified me, as it goes into detail about his support for the development of the supposedly deficient Ju-88, saying that it was "soon taken out of service for good." In fact the Ju-88 was a backbone of the Luftwaffe bomber force and it served in a wide variety of roles on every front. Between 1936 and 1945 more than 16,000 were eventually produced. Although he credits Udet with most of the blame for the Luftwaffe's later equipment shortcomings, he had plenty of assistance -- including from the Austrian Corporal himself. I'm not going to beat this book to death, it's a welcome addition to my library, but there are certainly enough errors to prevent it from being a quotable reference without verification from other sources.

The Jolly Rogers: The 90th Bombardment Group in the Southwest Pacific 1942-

If you're interested in WWII aviaton and don't have this book -- you need it.
A very nice representation of photos and information from the original publication. The original printing was done in Australia and the books had heavy card covers. I was fortunate enough to get to become acquainted with quite a few of the surviving members of the 90th Bombardment Group during the late 1970s/early 80s and got to know Colonel Art Rogers particularly well. They were as great a group of guys as you'd ever hope to meet and I was honored to assist with them with planning the 50th anniversary of the formation of the unit, which took place in Cheyenne Wyoming along with members of their successor unit, 90th Strategic Missile Wing. Both the original crews and their latter-day counterparts were in turn amazed by what their opposite numbers had done/were doing. All agreed the meeting of the two generations was well worth doing. Of course not everything in the book is "politically correct" by today's standards but they're an accurate representation of the attitudes of the times.
