Happy Gilmore
The hapless underdog hockey player turned golfer ... it's a pretty crude movie, but if you like Adam Sandler, this, IMHO is his funniest movie. The characters are broad and the plot is somewhat predictable, but for sheer laughs, you can't get much funnier than Happy Gilmore fighting Bob Barker in a classic scene, where 80 year old Barker gets the best of a 25 year old Gilmore!
If you're looking for a diversion or some quick laughs, this is the movie to watch ... whenever I need a laugh I put this movie on and by the end of it I feel much better for having laughed out loud ...
If you're not off put by profanity and crude jokes and predictability, then I recommend this film for some cheap laughs ...

An over the top moralistic tale
You have to be a graphic novel fan to enjoy this film and it's prequel .. Frank Miller maps out a very distinctive world that you can be a voyeur and watch ... it's full of bad guys and good bad guys .. a very moralistic tale of murder and revenge in his own stylized vision.
I can see a lot of people not liking this and it's prequel ... it's gory and over the top. But if you like graphic novels, which I do, you should finds these films very entertaining.
