A good netbook with a touch of the touch experience
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich Everyone wants something different. The Dell Inspiron Duo is something that will be particularly useful to the right people.
I was looking for a netbook to do 4 tasks: Read books, read and write emails, code lightly, and browse the net. Doing email and programming is absolutely painful without a keyboard, but reading books and browsing the net can be fun with just touch.
Some complaints for the Duo I have observed:
1. The Windows 7 interface is not touch friendly
2. The battery life is poor ( 4 hours)
3. It is too heavy
4. The responsiveness is slow
I think most of these complaints come from people who are looking to buy a tablet.
The Duo is really a netbook that lets you use the touchscreen when you want it. If you are not going to do anything that needs a keyboard then the Duo might not be your best choice. I am surprised that people would not want a keyboard for most activities traditionally done on a computer. If you are used to typing correctly on a keyboard, then typing on a piece of plastic/glass is especially annoying. The Duo's keyboard is actually pretty nice.
The Duo is a great choice for people with the right need.

Quick install. Easy and fun to use. Good detection software.
I bought this on a whim with a coupon and don't regret it. Works great. Easier to install than I thought it would be. The detection software is very clever. Saves time from going to your door for every little thing. The video is quite fisheye, but good quality.
