Largest Sensor Matters
The Sony a7R IV is unrivalled for still photography simply because it has the largest sensor (61 MB).
It has the most comprehensive suite of controls for single frame work.
As mirrorless cameras evolve into full featured video cameras there is less emphasis on their still photography capabilities.

No hesitation, this is a great lens.
This is of course a manually focussed lens which I prefer.
The focusing aids on advanced digital cameras make this very easy and accurate.
This lens is superbly corrected and sharp right out to the corners of the frame.
It is made in Japan to a Zeiss design and tested with manufacturing instruments made by Zeiss.
I see no diminution in quality from the many Zeiss lenses I own made in Germany.
This is a beautiful piece of modern glass.
