Good practice model
The 1:24 Dumas models of Chris Craft power boats are good warm-ups for the bigger and better 1:8 versions. You practice the art and skill of planking with good quality mahogany strips. The results, if you are careful and patient, are nice little replicas of the beautiful boats of yesteryear. The jump between these scales of models is large, as is the price. You may be content with the smaller ones, but if you catch the bug, you will want the flagships. I do recommend Dumas, a fine American company, and their line of Chris Craft boat models.

Nice nonfinished tissue box
A tall 5x5 inch box of tissues fits perfectly inside. Well made wood box can be painted or stained however you want. Personalize it! I simply used a clear wood sealant from a craft store. Fits right in.
