Rare and well recorded early singing
Really extraordinary singing captured far better than most acoustic records.

Classic 12" Tonearm with Easily Changed Headshell
Great, solid tonearm. A classic. The longer the tonearm, the better; don't go for a 9" unless your plinth lacks the room for a full 12" model like this one. Headshells on the SME can easily be switched out, unlike most good tonearms made today. This a must for people who play both 33s and 78s, or stereo and mono records. Also convenient when you want to swap out your expensive/delicate cart for a cheaper/sturdier one to play grotty discs. Some audiophiles feel that the extra connection involved in a swappable cart deteriorates the signal, but honestly this is not something the human ear can hear with proper wiring and a good tonearm like this one. Remember -- the cart/stylus are what really matters, the tonearm can only hurt not help the sound. This is a solid arm that won't detract, and the easily swappable headshells mean you can pick the perfect cart for your disc without 30 minutes of fussing.
Only drawback: the SME 30xx series (9" or 12") does require a substantial amount of drilling to set the arm. This is quite common in this price range.
