Finding the cause of London's most terrirfying epedemic--cholera in 1854--and making the story fascinating.
Fascinating historical account of solving a deadly medical mystery. Very well written. It kept my interest throughout. He explains very well, in my opinion, how and why John Snow became the person who found the cause of the disease outbreak when others could not. It wasn't just that John Snow was smart, and trained in medicine. It was also his personal history, personality, and unrelenting doggedness in proving his theory correct to the multitude of doubters. The author aslo explains why it was so hard to fight the common, and inaccurate, belief in the cause of the disease by the medical establishment and society in general. One of the best non-fiction books I've ever read! The same might be true for you.
