The little light that could
The 365nm wavelength of this UV flashlight really makes the fluorescent conformal coat we use on our electronics "pop". It makes in process quality control and contamination detection very easy, especially since we don't have to dim the lights to see the glow of the coating under this light.
The ability to change the focus is a nice plus, and the fact that we can use a 14500 Lithium cell with this helps as well.
Primarily, though, it's the fact that this will work with a standar AA cell that makes the sale. Two would be better, but it's nice knowing we can just pop in a standard alkaline if the Lithium cell runs out of juice.

365 nm makes things pop
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich When you want fluorescent things to "pop" in both brightness and color, the shorter UV wavelength of 365 nm really does the trick.
The zoom feature on this device helps with examining conformal coatings on circuit boards, as well as pinpointing problem areas that have been subjected to component scraping or rubbing. Its small and lightweight design makes this easy to carry and use, and the fact that it uses a single AA cell means you can simply drop in an alkaline AA if and when your rechargeable cell runs out. Best of all, you're not tethered to a specialized Lithium cell charger.
While the overall design is robust, this unit had a tendency to unscrew its front end. It was difficult to tighten due to the sliding zoom ring getting in the way.
