Wireless Original Xbox setup... Ups and downs...
Bought this as a cheap way of getting a wireless signal to my original classic Xbox, which only has Ethernet and don't fancy traipsing a cable around my house.
To get it set up and working took a bit of head scratching as the instructions were't very clear as to how to achieve the network connection I had in mind and it took a bit of trial and error in the different modes to get there. Eventually figured out that it needs to be in repeater mode (middle switch setting) to act like a standard wifi dongle (essentially a wireless ethernet bridge). Connected to it as a network on my mobile phone, logged in and set up the network it should connect to and corresponding password.
It's not an ideal solution as it needs USB power so currently using an adapter from one or the controller ports that changes it to normal standard USB for power. Alternative would be to power from a 3 pin plug with USB connector on it, like what comes with a lot of modern phones. These can be bought here on eBay for a pound or two.
This second solution is actually more viable, because once you power off the Xbox, it also cuts the power to this network adapter and unfortunately it has no memory so "forgets" all of your network settings/password. It does have WPS (quick connect where you press button on both adapter any your wifi router) but not used this function as it's not convenient (downstairs is way too far!).
Overall it's difficult to say whether it's good or not. It's better than trailing a ethernet cable around the house, but it's not foolproof and is a bit of an untidy/messy fix to the problem of older ethernet internet connection standards. If you can tolerate the messing about of the initial setup and can get hold of a 3 pin USB plug then it is certainly an option.
At £8.29 (at time of purchase) plus another couple of quid for the USB plug, this isn't bad value, but compared to modern USB wifi dongles that can be had for less than a fiver, you start to realise it ain't that cheap either!

Not great. Not really WIFI and barely an adapter.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Had high hopes for this, but alas it's very underwhelming... Underwhelming on both quality and functionality.
The WIFI function doesn't really work. I suspect this has more to do with the poor, dated software that comes in at the mobile app end maybe. Had the silly idea that I may be able to view and download pictures directly from my DSLR without having to connect it to a computer or remove the memory card, but unfortunately I have been unable to achieve either with this card. Got as far as seeing some image thumbnails, but it fails to download them each and every time. Shame.
The Android version of the app is very poor and I recommend looking at the reviews for that on the Google Play Store before deciding whether this is the choice of WIFI adapter for you. App is called "Wifi@SDCF".
What about just as an adapter for micro SD cards? Well I've tried 3 different micro cards of different brands and capacities and the adapter seems to have the same problem with all 3... As you start taking pictures, you'll notice that eventually, usually when you get into double digits of pics taken, the camera will tell you that all of the images are corrupted when you attempt to "review". If I hook up to the DSLR USB link cable, then the images do indeed seem as though they are corrupted, with artefacts, corrupted image thumbnails, and banded images displaying at the PC end... Weird thing is they're not actually corrupted if you read the data directly from the micro-SD card itself (except for a few rare occasions).
So all in all, can't really recommend this.

Great value at a good price!
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich The trouble with memory cards these days is that you never know whether what you're buying is genuine or not... That goes for genuine on brand and, more worryingly, stated capacity.
Been bit several times myself when it comes to buying cheaper, supposed branded, cards and it always ends in tears over data loss!
Buying from a reputable dealer who can't afford the reputation damage to their brand by selling dodgy memory is the way to go and it'll pay off in the long run.
May cost a few quid more than the cheapest out there, but it's most definitely worth it!
