‘80’s Classic
Most people don’t remember this gem from 1988, but it’s Cyndi Lauper’s film debut and its a good one. She plays a psychic who along with fellow psychic Jeff Goldblum, get hired by Peter Falk to find his missing son lost in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador. Of course Falk is lying, he’s really after the room of gold in a lost Incan city. He’s hoping these 2 oddballs can locate the city and make him rich. Of course some bad guys are after them and they get into one scrape after another before discovering the true richness of said city. Very funny in some parts, it’s a pretty good adventure film to get lost in on an afternoon or stay at home date night. If anything, see it for Lauper, she’s fantastic in this! Also stars Julian Sands and a cameo by a very young Steve Buscemi.
