Compelling, colorful book!
This is a compelling book about colors that speak to the Japanese heart and are frequently seen in kimono. It includes details about how each color is used in Japanese kimono, and how the colors were achieved throughout history with dyeing techniques. The information on each page is beautifully presented in Japanese and English, and it is accompanied by gorgeous photos of the author's kimono collection.
I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in kimono, but I think anyone with an interest in Japanese culture would enjoy it.

A useful tool for kanji learning
The Kodansha Kanji Learner's Course by Andrew Scott Conning is well-regarded in the Japanese learning community, and now that I have my own copy of the book, I can see why. In addition to stroke order, meanings, and readings, each kanji listed includes a helpful mnemonic for memorization purposes.
I've only just started using this book, but it's already helped me with kanji learning.
