Will not sight in. Wanders all over the Target.

Mounted to a RWS 48 unable to sight in. Could not focus a clear sight picture. The adjustment slot has an odd shape and shallow depth clicks are not positive hard to adjust. Might try on a lite recoil 22 but might just toss as I don't have any confidence this scope will get or hold a setting.
