Bear Grease Leather Dressing Waterproofer & Conditioner (3.5 oz)
12. Feb 2022
Good, but not like the old stuff.
This is not like the old "House of Laurila" bear grease, which also mentioned Finland on the can. Well, it is somewhat similar, but does not have the same tenacity that made the old stuff very hard to wash off your hands with soap & water. This stuff is more like vaseline. Also this product does not have the pleasant, old-timey smell that I used to love. The old stuff just smelled like tradition in a can. This is almost odorless. But this IS the best product currently available for preserving leather. I'll give it that much. Other products I've tried have all been too waxy or too sticky, or something always wrong. At least this stuff does sink into the leather properly.
Vintage Lee Auto Prime Hand Priming Tool 90230 W/ #6 Shell Holder 357 Mag

The older model Lee Auto-Prime... use at your own risk!
These older Auto-Prime tools can be dangerous if not used intelligently, as there is a greatly increased chance of mass detonation of the primers compared with later models of Lee tools. Supposedly (not 100% sure I believe this) 2 primers detonating together are 4 times as powerful as one by itself, and 5 are 25 times as powerful. At any rate it could be very bad for your eyesight, if not actually deadly, to have a whole tray full go off in front of your face. But wow the old tool works slick. I've never tried any later model, but have read bad things about their reliability. Using my original old tool I bought in the 1980's, I have never had any detonation of even a single primer though I do remember crushing one sideways into the primer pocket at least once over the years. I am curious to try some of the newer ones, and perhaps would adopt one for routine hobby reloading with my son, but this old model is what I'm making sure to have at least a couple of in my doomsday kit.

R8 ER20 7/16" Collet Chuck Holder CNC Milling Lathe R8 Arbor Spindle Holder Tool
01. Aug 2018
Absolute junk -- a waste of time and money.
These chucks are very crudely made. 3 out of the 4 I ordered had about .004" or .005" runout in the collet seats... absolute junk. I also noticed these tools in every case dropped from the spindle taper loosely as I loosened the drawbar... no rap on the bar needed to dislodge them. I consider this a sign of poor fit. Worst of all, as received the keyway that is part of the standardized R-8 shank ended about 1/4" too short! All 4 tools were the same way. I would have damaged or sheared off the key in my mill spindle had I tightened the drawbar firmly without realizing something was wrong. I had to spend time milling the keyways longer just so I could get the tools in the machine spindle to check them with an indicator to find out they were junk anyway. They are not made of very hard steel, either, by the way... seemed quite free machining. I am a professional machinist of 30 years experience. I have often received satisfactory tools of every type from China or Hong Kong, so I'm not against tools made over there, but these were junk and I advise all others to stay away.
