"Play tolerance in axle/transmission makes it worthless without modification"
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Installed this trans in my mower. Started mowing and then mower stopped moving, with all types of grinding noises. Took trans out to see what the issue was, since all other parts had been replaced and were new.
What I found was this; the axle has just enough side to side play in it to let the gears come UN-meshed inside the trans, causing loss of drive and ungodly grinding noises from transmission. I had to install a thin thrust washer on the short side of shaft inside the transmission to take up that play causing the issues. Once this was done, trans was re-installed and everything worked as it should have to begin with. This was SUPPOSED to be an OEM replacement transmission, but I cannot imagine this kind of quality coming from an OEM supplier. Very poor construction to not be able to stick to tolerance within the transmission.
