Casio FX-570es

This is a beautifully made scientific calculator with 403 functions,including regression analysis with 2 variables, permutations &combinations, solve and calc for 3 simultaneous equations and matrices. The key action is perfect, as we have come to expect from Casio and the lettering is black on white and not that awful yellow and red on black, favourite of Casio, but terrible to read at home at night. This model is identical with the FX-991ES, except that it is powered by a single,AAA inexpensive torch battery, while the other has a solar cell and a small button alkaline battery. Both should have negligible running costs. But near perfect though these two models are in what they do, they have one great disadvantage which prevents me from giving them an "excellent" rating: They are not programmable, which means they were really designed for school and college work and not for serious scientific work. A great pity.
