Lives up to its great reputation in each and every way possible
This thing is the real-deal! The Tube Driver is one of the most iconic overdrive/distortion pedals out there and it is used by many professionals that are known for good guitar tone - foremost David Gilmour and Eric Johnson. Here, one has the opportunity to obtain an original unit from the creator of the design himself - and it delivers everything that is expected. Build like a tank and filled with great tone. There is sweet spot after sweet spot to be found with that pedal. From the lightest overdrive to the most soaring distortion - it is all there. The overtones are unreal on this pedal. Changing tubes is super easy. For example, with a 12AU7, there is slightly more headroom and slightly less gain (but still plenty of it), but overall, the sound of the pedal is still nearly identical. The handling of the shipping to Germany was done super-professionally and the customer experience was truly first rate. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Good material
The DVD shoes a few Gilmour tracks nicely. Jamie Humphries goes through the solos note by note. He is usually very clear and easy to understand. Ever so occasionally, he rushes a bit through this or that part and then it takes some going back and forth to figure it out. An important part of Gilmour's guitar playing is his iconic guitar sound and his use of pedals. I don't think the producer went at any length to reproduce that and rather went with whatever was laying around in the studio. The tones heard on the DVD are nice, but not Gilmourish. I would have appreciated, if there were written our chord sequences, solo TAB's and backing tracks for practice. The selection of material is fine, although there are tracks like Marooned that are not doable without a rather special pedal (the Wammy pedal).

Excellent product
I am very happy with this purchase. It was shipped super fast, all shipping, tax and import was automatically taken care off, exactly as advertised. The packaging was great. The harness looked super cleanly wired. The instructions ere spot on. It dropped into my Epiphany Less Paul in just the way described (including having to slightly widen the holes for the pots. It works flawlessly and the sound of that guitar is vastly improved. A very worthy upgrade that I can happily recommend to anyone,
