Ludwig 14 x 5.5 Supralite Snare Drum (NEW)

So far so good

I haven't really had it long enough to actually know what this drum is going to give me in the future, but it has been a good start. I'd read reports that it's tone was somehow bright but warm, and, even with the tuning and heads that it arrived with, it has recorded very well indeed. Its volume is about right, sitting well in balance with the rest of my kit, and it seems to be well enough made. For a long time I've been convinced that the tuning matters more than the drum, but now I'm not so sure. I think it's likely to be a very good drum into the long-term future for me, from what I already know of it. I'm not primarily a drummer, but I write songs and record drums pretty frequently. I have five other snares, and this one is my favourite at the moment.

Amazing value bass

I was looking for a fatter tone than ia jazz bass, with a short scale, and this bass supplies it beautifully. It's very even from top to bottom with a lovely fat tone. Very little top end, though still perhaps more mid-range than I would like! Mainly, however, it plays well, is well mate, looks alright, and it was £110. Basically a bargain.

By far the best capo

after trying to save money by buying cheaper capos, I just bought three of these. Other capos need the guitar retuning every time you move them, they get in the way of your thumb, or scratch the neck of your guitar. The Shubb capo doesn’t.. It is by far the best.
