A basic and solid instrument.
It is a rather basic stereo microscope, with continuous zoom from 0.63x to 4.0x. Several positions may be ratcheted. With a 1x objective and 10x eyepieces it a solid instrument for most dissection work, and it can be easily adapted for drawing and photography.

The best coupling plate by Hasselblad: easier and more secure
Hasselblad produced a series of quick coupling systems to connect their camera to the tripod. The first and simpler one (Art. 45128) connect to all V bodies, minus the 503CXi, 501CM, 503CW, %%% ELD, and 903 SWC, which have a differently shaped foot. The next release, the Tripod Quick Coupling S (art. 45144) works with the most recent of cameras of the system V and, via a quick coupling plate, also with the older V bodies. The last type, the Tripod Quick Coupling H (art. 3043326), was originally designed fo the system H cameras, and it works with all the bodies of the systems H and X, with the most recent of cameras of the system V and, via the coupling plate, with all V bodies.
I found the H type to be more solid, it has two spirit levels to position the camera and, above all, it is more comfortable because it requires only one hand to insert the camera into the slide rails. When the camera reaches the bottom position, a small metal cylinder automatically engages with the base of the camera, preventing it from sliding out of the shoe before the locking lever is fully engaged. To remove the camera from the shoe, you press a large release lever, which lowers the safety cylinder.
The Quick Coupling S also has a safety system, but this is located at the entrance to the shoe and must be pressed down until the camera foot is completely seated on the base of the adapter. This requires the use of two hands: one to support and slide the camera forward, and the other to press and hold the safety lever.
I find the Tripod Quick Coupling H to be certainly the most functional and safest to use of the series.
