Good alternative DIY drill sharpener at an affordable price
This is a really cool tool - firstly you have to accept that it is not a commercial drill sharpener, but designed for the needs of a DIY handyman. On opening the product I was a little disappointed with the quality of the drill chuck .. it's totally made from plastic and I was expecting a chuck with standard metal jaws.
There are a series of plastic fingers within the chuck which are designed to hold the drill bit central whilst positioning the bit to the correct length and rotational position. When this position is aligned, you tighten the drill in the chuck to a firm level, which appears more than adequate during the sharpening process.
The sharpening process is simple, with my only advice being to begin with minimum pressure until the grinding wheel has removed the initial high spots on the drill face, then apply a little more pressure when it sounds comfortable. This is not the tool you would use to repair a broken bit, as the faces have to be close to the correct angle to be of any advantage and you would wear the wheel out sharpening one bit from a broken state. Attack those snapped bits on the grinding wheel first, to get them close.
The grinding wheel is relatively cheap and a tad coarse, which leaves minute scores on the sharpened face, but in the grand scheme of things for DIY - is no real issue. With a little practice you become competent at returning those hundreds of blunt drill bits in the workshop drawer to 95% of the original sharpness.
For less than $100 with a few spare grinding wheels thrown in, this product will earn it's keep in no time. My only hesitation would be the accuracy of the plastic chuck with wear and tear over time .. in DIY world, I'd rate it a comfortable 8/10.

Thumbs down
Trackball is too loose which limits accurate control

Cheaper alternative that works okay, but may not last as long as original product
Fits as described, not sure of longevity potential as compound appears quite dry.
