Saved my flash.
Thanks to this great little product I can now use my Sony flash (HVL-F36AM), designed for use with the DSLR hotshoe on my A350 camera, on my A58 SLT camera with the new 'universal' hotshoe. Okay I could fire it wirelessly without this, but it's nice to have full TTL functionality from an on camera flash without going to the expense of a new flashgun.

You get what you pay for.
I dreamt this would be an easy way to go super wide - but I wasn't expecting miracles for the price.
I screwed it on to my 18-55mm lens and took some photos. The first suprise was the vignetting - at 18mm the image was black in the corners - so much for the dream of a sub 10mm lens. By the time the black disappeared the zoom was out at 24mm (10.8mm with the converter).
Sharpness wasn't bad in the centre (though nothing like as good as the bare lens) and was non existant in the corners - by the time the result was cropped to remove the blurry edges it was back at 18+mm angle of view - so not a lot of point in using it in the first place.
Similar story with the close up lens - but blurry edges may not matter so much with a macro shot (as long as the main subject fits in the sharper central bit. But you have to get very close to the subject. It does, at least, enable some macro shooting with a lens otherwise incapable of such. That said a better close-up lens or an extension tube or two would give better results.
This lens will never satisfy a purist in either mode, but it could be worth having in your pocket if a somewhat impressionistic wide view is better than none. If you don't expect much you won't be disappointed!

Saved the day.
My Smart key button had disintegrated - the rubbery/plastic had gone and I was pushing the switch underneath that was esposed. The two part plastic case from this fob replaced the old worn case in under a minute and I had a nice key again. I had no used for the metal blank, but some may.
