Pretty good fit for a Mosin
Bought this specifically to tame the recoil from the Mosin Nagant's metal standard issue butt plate. However, I didn't want to remove the metal plate to install the retrofit rubber butt plates designed specifically for the Mosin. I wanted to keep it original. This seems to work pretty well. No, it doesn't quite "fit like a glove" because the Mosin has the unique curve in the stock. But this does pad it and doesn't fall off.
