Supergirl a Bit Less Than Super
I looked forward to seeing this video for quite some time. Unfortunately, I found the movie to be - while not out-and-out disappointing - quite less than hoped for. Perhaps, being a fan of the original DC Comics in the 50's and 60's, I just expected too much. The characters and plot line did just not come across well and seemed to lack proper planning. They undoubtedly are not true to the original. The only bright spot in this video was Maureen Teefy as Lucy Lane. She, in my opinion, did a marvelous job of portraying her character. All in all, I would rate this movie as average.

Paycheck Leaves Something To Be Desired
Ben Affleck and Uma Thurman do admirably adequate jobs in their roles. That being said, it should also be noted that the concept for this movie has a great deal of potential; unfortunately, that potential is not realized. In all fairness, I purchased this movie for the sci-fi aspect involving 'time viewing' and various thought treatments of 'altering a probable future.' In that, I was sorely disappointed - not nearly enough time or conjecture was placed in that arena. Additionally, the storyline which makes up the majority of the movie shows little creativity and remains - for the most part - formulaic.

Back to the Basics
If you like Stargate SG-1, if you like time travel, if you like alternate universes, and if you really like the earlier episodes, then this is one for you. Enjoying all those things, I found this to be an excellent catch-up and finish to the earlier series plotline. My only problem with the movie is that they seemed to get a bit rushed in the end. Several scenes could have been handled better and a few loose ends remain. Still, overall, a great effort.
