Quality cables at a modest price
Sometimes you don't appreciate a quality product until you've suffered through a lot of bad ones. That seems especially true with something like USB cables -- you don't give them much thought until they fail -- again and again and again.
Since I started using Anker USB cables I haven't looked back. Very well designed. Very well made. Very durable. Very good value. (The drugstore USB cables aren't really cheaper when you have to replace them in a few weeks.)
The only problem I've had with the Ankers is holding on to them ...

Retro Modern Handlebars for the Fixie Fashionista
These handlebars were a surprise in a couple of ways.
First, I was expecting bright chrome. They're not matte, more of a satin finish. You can really see the difference between the stem and the bars in the first photo.
While it make take some getting used to, I found it quite elegant. I especially like the way the branding is etched onto the bars (first and second photos).
The other surprising thing is their cross section. While the bar ends and center are round, the curve is slightly flattened (second photo). It's similar to the design of modern drop bars albeit not as pronounced (third photo).
That makes that area a comfortable place to rest your hands if you want to shift your riding position. Your weight is more evenly distributed on your palms. Less pressure per square inch translates to more comfort.
My only quibble is value. These bars were $80 before tax and shipping.
I recently bought a couple of sets of Cinelli Pepper riser bars in both black and silver (fourth photo, gold pictured).
Yes, the Peppers are stubby riser bars, while the Full Speed Ahead Metropolis has a swept back cruiser/dove bar design. Yes, the Metropolist is literally more handlebar. It also offers a qualitatively different experience, including the ability shift positions.
OTOH the Cinellis are available in matte black, white, gold or silver while the FSAs come in just two colors: black or silver. And the Cinellis are about $60.
Would I buy another Metropolis handlebar? Yes. I'm planning on getting at least one more set for an upcoming project.
When I can find them on sale.
YMMV.

Great idea. Not so great execution.
We needed a better solution to the wet/dry spoons problem. The classic sugar dispenser seemed like a winner.
And it is -- except when it's not.
The problem with sugar is that it's sticky; when it's time to refill the top tends to stick.
A better/knurled grip on the lid might help, so would better designed threads.
The design is classic. The feel however is ... cheap.
You get what you pay for.
