All you really need for a lightweight camera
This tripod is simple but provides every function you need for a small-to-medium-size camera. It is also compact and lightweight, easily carried. It almost fits inside a medium-size camera bag. There are only two shortcomings. One is that it's maximum height is a bit short. The specs say the maximum height is about 40 inches (102 cm) but I measured 42 inches. That means that in photographing people the camera will be looking up. The other is that it does not inspire confidence for placement of a heavy camera such as an SLR. I don't think it would actually collapse if properly set up, but if I owned a $1,000 camera I would spring for a larger and sturdier tripod. Having said all that, I don't think you can find a less expensive tripod that would perform better.

Good time-lapse feature
In addition to being a decent 12-megapixel camera, this Pentax has a time-lapse feature. You can set it for intervals as short as 10 seconds, and up to 1,000 photos (or until you fill the memory card).

I like it
Excellent color scans. The user interface is a bit clunky. My older HP and Epson scanners were easier to use. But new stand-alone scanners are apparently no longer being made. Among the existing ones this Canon is a good choice. I had to avoid Epson because my V550 (an otherwise sweet scanner) turned out to be incompatible with Windows 10 when I upgraded.
