The product is nicely constructed but I found the meter fluctuated quite wildly when trying to position the antenna. It emits a tone that varies with the signal strength, which can be handy if it is difficult to see the meter. You will need to take some time to set the sensitivity control to get the best results. You attach the antenna then adjust the its position whilst gradually reducing the sensitivity of the meter until you find the optimum beam heading. The unit comes with a battery holder for 6x AA cells, but can also be used with a standard 9v PP3 battery which is what I used. The meter is fitted with an F type socket to connect to the antenna rather than the more common Belling Lee aerial connector. I had to purchase an adaptor to connect to my downlead. Overall, it does the job and is good for the price.

Good item

I used one of these to permanently connect my dashcam to the car electrics. The socket ran from the fusebox via a piggy back fuse adaptor and is now tucked up under the dashboard plugged pemanently into the USB adaptor supplied with the camera. The socket is well made with reasonably thick connecting wires. The USB adaptor fits firmly into the socket.
