Silly and diverting fun
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich _Dreamboat_ is a fun little film that has a sense of humor about itself and about movies in general. Set in the early days of television, it features Clifton Webb as an erudite college literature professor who, while in an ivory tower, has managed to hide his past as a silent movie idol (one part Valentino, one part Fairbanks). When his films are shown on TV, he begins a campaign against the new medium and himself. Some of the comments about television recall the sly commentary of _Champagne for Caesar_, another comedy about an intellectual and early TV. Though it's a formulaic film in many ways, it is also well made and great fun.

Good Value, Good Find
Long out of print but definitely worth finding for nostalgic fans of classic Christmas specials. It has songs from several of the Rankin-Bass Christmas shows, plus some classic cartoons, and a couple of songs from Muppet Family Christmas.
