Low yielding Bond
This follow up to Casino Royale pales in comparison. The villain is ambiguous and non-threatening, and his crime syndicate "Quantum" was equally so. Bond seemed to lose layers of depth in this one, and the loose cannon direction took away from other potential developments. The anticipated actions scenes were shaky and hard to decipher what was exactly happening due to jittery film editing for whatever reason. Perhaps the first movie surpassed expectations too much, but this one could have done better than the old Double-assassin team-up against a Bolivian dictator and an aspiring water dealer...Double-O-sappy. Daniel Craig deserves a better adventure than this before his run is over.

The good book
Reminiscent of Mad Max and a Spaghetti western. Good, bad, and ugly people on their own paths. It begins and ends with a nomadic feel. I liked the dry and desolate look of the scenery..surreal. The house shootout scene had a great eerie gothic vibe to it. Denzel is pretty good at playing a mystery man, and Oldman is nice as the potential corrupt preacher. Mila Kunis is really great, even if she is way too beautiful to be depicting a servant girl in a ravaged world where even shampoo is hard to come by. The surprise ending did make the movie better from top to bottom and I can't say I saw it coming. You will like this movie if you take pride in faith and redemption. You will love this movie if you especially enjoy bullying thugs getting massacred OR have a crush on ultra-gorgeous Mila.

True gem
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I finally try this sequel eight years after its release and I have to say I am enjoying it more than anything else right now. Not too simple nor too complex. The graphics are still top-notch in 2012 and overall a terrific expansion of the first Baldur's Gate. I understand some gamers get through this pick-up adventure in about 10 hours, however, if you are methodical and curious(or indecisive)then it could take you 20 hours or more. The workshop within the town's shop is a whole different game in itself and you have access to it all but the start of the game. Math skills, along with inventory control and profit awareness are helpful to succeed in the difficult modes without saving often.
In criticism..some of the quests do involve running for your life while trying to heal yourself, which is not my preference for stress relief. ALSO: Because the final act is rather rushed it may have you creating your ultimate weapon with only a few minutes of battle left!
With five different quest-driven characters to choose from, along with two unlockables, replays are a given. The automap is good and spell cycling is tricky but satifying. I would say knowing the adventure beforehand is a big advantage but not necessarily less frustrating. In terms of game addiction this one is pretty high on the chart so I suppose take caution.
