Not a shady buy.
It comes in two parts. The ring has a thread on one face and a bayonet connection on the other. Screw the ring onto the lens barrel and then connect the lens hood to the bayonet fitting which means the whole hood assembly does not have to be unscrewed from the camera. Simple but a great idea.

Get your printer covered.
Bought for Canon printer. Fits OK.

If you want to mount up the pluses buy this one
Bought for the Blue Yeti Nano Mic. Does not creep out of alignment so is just the job for my needs.
