Yamaha CDS300 CD Player CD-S300 Silver

Yamaha give us a bargain.

Ignore the price, this'll match CD players costing two or three times as much. Good with MP3s, better with WMAs and a great CD Transport too. Detailed and has great, great bass.

An excellent single board computer and good upgrade from the Pi 3.

I collect single board computers and this is fantastic for what it is - a sensibly priced gateway to real computing. While phrases such as Desktop replacement are often used, it is a substitute for a machine for light web browsing and basic office applications but this is no speed machine - it is comfortably outperformed by my dual core take-everywhere Celeron netbook. The Raspberry Pis still have the broadest and strongest community support out of all single board computers. This alone makes it a superior purchase. For 40 pounds for the 2Gb version delivered, you really can't go wrong with this.

One for your top 10 favourite CDs - best modern composer, best modern singer

When you've finally realised that Pop isn't worth your time, fill your day with music that rouses and stirs your soul. Lisa Gerrard is possibly the greatest vocal performer in the last 20 years. Hans Zimmer possibly the best composer in the last 40.
