A story that needs to be read by everyone, especially now when the shadow of socialism/communism is hanging over the world again.
The truth of communism in stories like these, need to be read and understood by everyone. The brutality, the horrors of the gulags, the paranoia and terror of dictators, we need to know and wake up to how easily this can happen.

It makes you long for a simpler world and way of life, the desert cries out to me.
Love the film and love this book, poetically written
