Fully 8 pages of text pages within chapters are blank. To much hassle to go through waiting for another one.

Sound research by a author who was seriously interested in the subject.

The subject of women in sports and their progression over the decades makes for fascinating reading and deserves so much more attention. While this book was released in 1997, a follow-up would be valuable due to the rapid and accelerated progress that has been made over the 24 years since. This book should be in every library.

Picturing the Modern Amazon. A perfect title that fits the title perfectly.

The layout is artfully produced and blends well with the scholastically written contents over all the chapters. It is a very unique and beautifully presented look at women who have challenged their physicality over many decades. Kudos to the many individuals who had a hand in this carefully crafted and colorful one-of-a-kind volume. The name of the book 'Picturing the Modern Amazon' fits the contents perfectly.
